Norina in Madrid Teatro Real “…The young Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva was the great success of the evening as Norina. In spite of her age - 27 - she has already quite a lot of experience as a singer, having received very good reviews while on tour with William Christie last fall in concert performances of Rameau’s Les Indes Galantes. She looks simply stunning and she has an attractive voice which is very easy at the top. This in fact, is a remarkable actress who knows how to sing perfectly. In summary, she is an extraordinary Norina among a cast of young people. At the final bows the audience showed huge approval of the artists, with special cheers for Sonya Yoncheva…” Seen and Heard International 23.03.2009 by José M Irurzun ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Les Indes Galantes with William Christie “…Not only is this, musically speaking, the most sublime of the three acts, but it was enhanced here by a remarkable performance from Sonya Yoncheva as Phani: her soprano sounded rich, lustrous and perfectly controlled… Again Yoncheva impressed, this time with 'Sur nos bords l'amour', an air of staggering beauty, sensitively and seductively sung…” « music OMH » 4 November 2008 by Laura Battle “…In voice and gesture the soprano Sonya Yoncheva maintained more distance overall, though there was nothing hesitant about her upper range…” Corriere della Serra 15 November 2008 by Pierluigi Panza
