Born in Chile, Christian Senn has been living in Italy for several years.
After a Master degree in Biology, he is admitted in the Academy for young singers at “Teatro alla Scala”, in Milan studying with L. Gencer, L. Alva and V. Manno. He sings with conductors such as R. Muti, R. Chailly, M. Benini, M. Barbacini, C. Rizzi, G. Antonini, O. Dantone, F. Biondi, R. Gandolfi, R. Rizzi Brignoli, C. Rovaris in some of the most important European halls and theaters including Teatro alla Scala, Wiener Konzerthaus, Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Palau de la Musica in Valencia, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro Comunale in Florence, Teatro La Fenice in Venise as well as at the Kanagawa Hall di Yokohama and at the National Theatre in Santiago del Cile.
Christian Senn is one of the most sought after high baritones for Rossini and Mozart repertoire in Italy and abroad. Between his last prestigious engagements, he performs Figaro ne Il Barbiere di Siviglia in several productions at the Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Regio in Tourin, La Fenice in Venice.
Recently he had great success with his Conte in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Teatro alla Scala, as well as Taddeo in L’italiana in Algeri in Teatro Regio in Turin, and Papageno in The Magic Flute in Montpellier.
Furthermore he sang Guglielmo in Così fan Tutte at Santiago Teatro Nacional in Chile under the baton of M. Benini and again in Verona and Reggio Emila directed by J. Webb; Lately he sang as well the role of Pacuvio in Rossini’s La Pietra di Paragone in Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris and at Teatro Regio in Parma conducted by J.C. Spinosi and staged by P. Sorin and Barberio Corsetti; Zoroastro in Haendel’s Orlando at Palau de las Arts in Valencia; Valentin in Gounod’s Faust and Enrico in Donizzetti’s Lucia di Lamermoor in Santiago de Chile; Nanni in Haydn’s L'Infedeltà delusa in Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci.
Specialized as well in baroque repertoire he sings Bajazet in Vivaldi’s Bajazet in the major European capitals and in Japan with Europa Galante and Fabio Biondi; Astolfo in Vivaldi’s Orlando Furioso with J.C.Spinosi in Edimburgh and in Bremen; Mozart’s Betulia Liberata with Ottavio Dantone; La Senna in Vivaldi’s La Senna Festeggiante with Paul Goodwin; Handel’s Alexander Fest with Diego Fasolis at the Swiss Radio. Fond in Bach’s music he sang many Kantate, Weihnachts Oratorium, Johannes Passion, Matthaus Passion, Magnificat as well as such modern masterpieces as Messe Solemnelle by C. Frank and Messa di Santa Cecilia by C. Gounod, Requiem by Fauré.

Among other engagements for the season 2009-2010 and futures, we mention: Maestro di Musica in Donizetti’s Convenienze e Inconvenienze Teatrali in Teatro alla Scala; Figaro in Rossini’s Barbiere di Sevilla in Teatro La Fenice and the same role wih Jean-Christophe Spinosi and Ensemble Matheus for a european tour; He will be again Figaro in Teatro Massimo in Palermo and Astolfo in Vivaldi’s Orlando Furioso in Théâtre de Champs Elysées in Paris with revivals in Nizza, etc.
